More than 20,000 women-led businesses have received over Rs. 24 billion in financing from commercial banks during the past year. This milestone, reported by the State Bank of Pakistan, reflects growing efforts to enhance financial inclusion and promote women’s participation in the economy.
SBP Outreach Programs Strengthen Women Entrepreneurs
The central bank highlighted that more than fifty outreach sessions were conducted nationwide. These sessions directly engaged approximately 1,500 women entrepreneurs. Programs included SME Baithaks, mentorship initiatives, awareness workshops, and business development drives.
Officials said that these efforts aim to provide practical guidance on accessing credit, expanding enterprises, and navigating financial systems. The outreach will now extend to over fifty districts, enabling thousands more women to benefit from targeted support and financial guidance.
Women Entrepreneurs as Key Drivers of Economic Growth
SBP emphasized that women-led businesses have consistently shown resilience and innovation. They play a vital role in driving productivity, creating jobs, and contributing to long-term competitiveness across Pakistan’s entrepreneurial sector.
The bank stated that building an inclusive financial ecosystem remains a long-term priority. By providing access to finance and mentorship, authorities aim to create sustainable pathways for women entrepreneurs and strengthen their role in the national economy.
Celebrating Pakistan Women Entrepreneurship Day
To celebrate these achievements, the SBP will mark Pakistan Women Entrepreneurship Day on December 3, 2025. Events will be held across sixteen SBP field offices, highlighting accomplishments and initiatives supporting women in business.
Additionally, commercial banks will organize activities until December 5 to recognize the contributions of women innovators, business owners, and job creators. These initiatives aim to inspire further engagement and encourage broader participation in entrepreneurship.
Looking Ahead: Expanding Financial Inclusion
Officials confirmed that the program’s success will serve as a foundation for expanded financial inclusion efforts. By providing loans, mentorship, and targeted guidance, the initiative seeks to empower women across Pakistan.
The SBP aims to ensure that women entrepreneurs can access the resources they need to grow their businesses, strengthen local economies, and contribute meaningfully to Pakistan’s economic development.
The initiative underlines a long-term commitment to create an environment where women-led businesses can thrive, innovate, and shape the future of entrepreneurship in Pakistan.
