ISLAMABAD: Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Ishaq Dar held a crucial bilateral meeting with his UAE counterpart, Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, in Abu Dhabi, marking a significant step in further enhancing the longstanding and fraternal ties between the two nations.
The meeting, which took place at the invitation of Sheikh Abdullah, aimed to explore avenues for deeper bilateral cooperation across several key sectors, including trade, investment, energy, defense, and people-to-people connections, according to a press release issued by Pakistan’s Foreign Office on Saturday.
During their discussions, the two leaders also exchanged perspectives on regional and global developments of mutual interest, emphasizing the importance of fostering peace, stability, and shared prosperity. They underscored their commitment to supporting each other in navigating the complexities of the international landscape.
Celebrating UAE’s Success and Pakistan’s Continued Partnership
Senator Ishaq Dar took the opportunity to congratulate the UAE leadership on the successful organization of the World Government Summit 2025 in Dubai, held from February 11-13, 2025. He commended the UAE’s visionary approach in encouraging global dialogue and collaboration, noting the summit’s role in fostering international cooperation.
Reaffirming Pakistan’s dedication to strengthening its partnership with the UAE, Senator Dar also highlighted the important role of the Pakistani diaspora in the UAE. He described the community as a vital bridge connecting the two nations, reinforcing the deep-rooted ties between the peoples of Pakistan and the UAE. Additionally, he expressed gratitude for the UAE’s continuous support of Pakistan’s economic development and progress.
UAE’s Commitment to Strategic Partnership
In response, Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan expressed the UAE’s firm commitment to further reinforcing its strategic relationship with Pakistan. He acknowledged Pakistan’s vital contributions to regional stability and emphasized the positive role played by the Pakistani community in the development of the UAE.
The two leaders agreed to maintain high-level engagements and consultations on a regular basis to strengthen bilateral ties, as well as to coordinate efforts on regional and international issues of mutual concern.
