DUBAI: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif concluded a productive two-day visit to the United Arab Emirates, where he attended the World Government Summit 2025 and held key meetings with UAE leadership, global investors, and regional counterparts to advance economic and strategic partnerships.
Meeting with UAE President
During his visit, PM Shehbaz met with UAE President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan at Qasr Al Shati in Abu Dhabi, where he was warmly welcomed. The two leaders discussed strengthening bilateral ties, focusing on trade, investment, and economic development.
Both sides emphasized the need to enhance cooperation for mutual benefit and explored strategies for fostering long-term economic growth and prosperity.
The discussions also highlighted the significance of the World Government Summit as a platform to identify global governance trends and propose actionable solutions to improve government readiness for future challenges. “The discussions underscored the importance of leveraging these shifts to accelerate development and build a better future for all,” according to a press statement.
Regional and International Issues
The two leaders also addressed regional and international issues of mutual concern, particularly developments in the Middle East. They stressed the need for increased international efforts to promote a comprehensive and sustainable peace in the region, grounded in a two-state solution, to ensure stability, security, and peace.
