Pakistan showcased their impressive form once again by defeating Japan 79-39 on Monday at the Asian Youth Netball Championship held in South Korea.
This latest triumph marks Pakistan’s fourth consecutive win in the tournament, putting them at the top of Pool B with 8 points.
The team started strong, leading 16-9 after the first quarter and widening the gap to 39-17 by halftime. In the third quarter, the score surged to 60-26 before Pakistan sealed the game at 79-39.
Key contributions came from players including Leya Raza Shah, Alisha Naveed, Haleema, Sarina Hussain, Jasmine Farooq, Farah Rasheed, Amani, Parisa, Sumayya Ahmed, and Alina, who all played vital roles in the decisive victory.
Senior officials from the Pakistan Netball Federation — chairman Mudassar Arain, president Samreen Malik, and secretary general Muhammad Riaz — congratulated the team on their outstanding performance against Japan.
Looking ahead, Pakistan will face the Maldives tomorrow.
Earlier in the tournament, Pakistan overwhelmed hosts South Korea 91-6, after starting with a dominant 71-15 win over Saudi Arabia on Friday and following it up with a 56-32 victory against Chinese Taipei on Saturday.
The championship is being held at the Jeonju Hwasan Gymnasium in South Korea from June 27 to July 4.
