JEONJU, South Korea: Pakistan’s youth netball team delivered a dominant performance on Friday, defeating Maldives 60-35 in the final of the 2025 Asian Youth Girls Netball Championship (Plate Division Cup), capping off an undefeated tournament run.
The final, held at the Jeonju Hwasan Gymnasium, saw Pakistan take control from the first whistle. The team surged ahead with a 17-5 lead in the opening quarter and never looked back. By halftime, Pakistan had extended their advantage to 34-17, and by the end of the third quarter, the score stood at 45-23.
Throughout the match, the Maldives struggled to find momentum, unable to overtake Pakistan’s commanding lead at any point. The win marked Pakistan’s seventh consecutive victory in the tournament, showcasing their consistency and dominance throughout the competition.
Standout performances came from players including Leya Raza Shah, Alisha Naveed, Sumayya Kouser, Haleema, Jasmine Farooq, Alina, Amani, Parisa, and Farah Rasheed, all of whom played key roles in securing the championship title.
Chairman of the Pakistan Netball Federation, Mudassir Arian, along with President Sameen Malik and Secretary General Muhammad Riaz, congratulated the team on their remarkable achievement and praised their commitment and teamwork.
The 2025 Asian Youth Netball Championship, held under the Asian Netball Federation, took place from June 27 to July 4, drawing teams from across the continent in a showcase of young talent and sportsmanship.
