Pakistan beat Bangladesh in the final T20I match of the three-game series, yet it was Bangladesh who emerged as the overall series winners. Despite Pakistan’s commanding 74-run victory, Bangladesh had already claimed the first two matches, ensuring they won the T20I series 2-1. In this final game, Pakistan displayed excellence in both batting and bowling, offering some consolation after two disappointing results earlier in the tour.
Pakistan was put in to bat first by the hosts, who won the toss and opted to field. The Pakistani side made the most of their innings, posting a challenging total of 178 runs in 20 overs. The key contributor to this effort was opener Sahibzada Farhaan, who led from the front with a quickfire 63 off just 41 deliveries. Farhaan’s innings included five sixes and six boundaries, firmly establishing Pakistan’s intent to dominate. Hassan Nawaz supported with an explosive 33 from 17 balls, hitting three huge sixes and accelerating the innings during the middle overs.
Bangladesh’s bowlers worked hard to contain the Pakistani batters, with Taskin Ahmed taking three wickets and Nasum Ahmed grabbing two. But Pakistan beat Bangladesh convincingly in the second innings, thanks to a stellar bowling performance that dismantled the host team’s batting order. Bangladesh struggled under pressure, with only Mohammad Saifuddin offering any resistance by scoring 33 runs. The rest of the batting lineup crumbled, and Bangladesh were bowled out for just 104 runs, sealing Pakistan’s win.
It is largely due to the bowlers’ efforts that Pakistan beat Bangladesh in this third T20I. Salman Mirza took three wickets, while Faheem Ashraf and Mohammad Nawaz chipped in with two each, ensuring consistent pressure from both ends. The collective bowling performance prevented any momentum from building in the Bangladesh chase, making it a one-sided affair.
Pakistan beat Bangladesh in front of an enthusiastic crowd at the Dhaka Stadium, where Chairman of the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), Mohsin Naqvi, was also present. Though this win was not enough to change the series outcome, it ended Pakistan’s tour on a high note. Bangladesh retained the series trophy, having clinched victories in the earlier matches.
