On Saturday, the Pakistan High Commission in New Delhi revealed that it had granted 104 visas to Indian Hindu pilgrims who plan to partake in the forthcoming 315th birth anniversary festivities of Shiv Avtari Satguru Sant Shadaram Sahib at Shadani Darbar.
This disclosure was conveyed via the high commission’s communication on the micro-blogging platform X (formerly Twitter).
Scheduled to transpire from December 12 to 23, the birth anniversary celebrations will be held at Shadani Darbar Hayat Pitafi, a significant spiritual site for the Hindu community in Sindh, drawing devotees from various regions.
Aligned with the Pakistan-India Protocol on Visits to Religious Shrines of 1974, this visa initiative underscores Islamabad’s commitment to promoting religious tourism and fostering cultural exchanges. Annually, this protocol facilitates the attendance of numerous Sikh and Hindu pilgrims from India at diverse events in Pakistan.
Charge d’ Affaires Aizaz Khan, as per the high commission’s statement, conveyed warm felicitations to the pilgrims, expressing well wishes for a secure and auspicious journey.
In the preceding month, a substantial contingent of Sikh pilgrims journeyed to Pakistan to partake in the commemoration of Baba Guru Nanak’s 544th birth anniversary at Gurdwara Sri Panja Sahib Hasan Abdal.
