Terror Victims
On the special directive of the Government of Pakistan, a Pakistan Air Force (PAF) C-130 aircraft was dispatched to bring back the bodies of eight Pakistani nationals who tragically lost their lives in a terrorist attack in Iran’s Sistan-Baluchestan province.
The aircraft successfully transported the bodies from Zahedan, Iran, to Bahawalpur early Thursday morning, providing a dignified return for the deceased and closure for their grieving families.
All eight victims belonged to the Bahawalpur district and were among those who fell prey to a brutal terrorist attack in the restive border region of Iran.
The somber mission was coordinated by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Pakistan Air Force, reflecting the government’s commitment to stand by its citizens during such times of profound loss.
According to a statement issued by the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the legal formalities for repatriation were completed in Zahedan, after which the bodies were officially handed over to Pakistan’s Consul General. Following this, the remains were transported via the PAF aircraft to Bahawalpur, where an official reception was organized to receive the deceased.
At Bahawalpur airport, bereaved family members gathered in grief as they received the coffins of their loved ones. High-ranking civil and military officials were present at the airport to offer condolences and support. The officials assured the families that the state and armed forces share in their sorrow and will continue to stand firmly against terrorism.
In a joint message, the Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee and the Chiefs of the Armed Services expressed their profound sorrow over the tragic loss of innocent lives.
They extended their heartfelt condolences to the affected families and prayed for them to be granted the patience and strength needed to endure this unimaginable loss.
They reaffirmed the commitment of Pakistan’s military and leadership to combating terrorism in all its forms and maintaining national unity in the face of adversity.
