‘Qabza’ Highlights Palestinian Resistance Amid Ongoing Humanitarian Crisis
Pakistani metal band Naqaabposh has released a powerful new single titled ‘Qabza’, dedicating it to the people of Gaza and their ongoing resistance. The band announced that 100% of streaming proceeds from the track will go towards relief efforts in Gaza, as the region continues to suffer under Israel’s blockade and military strikes.
The lyric video for ‘Qabza’ features raw and emotional footage from war-torn Gaza and pro-Palestine protests held worldwide. It includes heartbreaking scenes of starving children, destroyed infrastructure, and Palestinians resisting with nothing more than stones and bottles against a heavily armed military.
The song was written and composed by Ammar Khaled and Hasan Tanveer, with Adeel Tahir on bass. Lyrically, ‘Qabza’ speaks of freedom, resistance, and the strength of the people’s voice. It is a message of solidarity in the face of injustice and occupation.
Since October 7, 2023, Israel’s intensified military operations in Gaza have resulted in over 67,000 deaths, including thousands of women and children. The UN declared a famine in the area in August, as Israel continues to block aid and target civilian infrastructure.
Band Calls Out Silence from Industry, Pushes for Broader Action
Naqaabposh has also taken a strong stand against the lack of response from major Pakistani artists regarding the Gaza crisis. “It just felt wrong to stay silent,” said Ammar Khaled. “We wanted to contribute our voice to the cause, and we hope other musicians will follow.”
The band is currently in talks with the Al Khidmat Foundation to ensure donations from the track reach those in need. Verified GoFundMe links for Palestinian relief have also been added to the video’s YouTube description.
‘Qabza’ is released in a vertical, mobile-optimized video format, intentionally omitting any footage of the band members. “This wasn’t about us,” said Khaled. “We didn’t want to distract from the issue. The video reflects the brutal reality—armed soldiers against civilians with nothing but courage.”
The band believes the format may help overcome shadow bans on platforms like Meta and Google, which they claim are limiting visibility for pro-Palestine content.
Naqaabposh formed in 2017, known for socially conscious tracks like ‘Bheekh’ and ‘Khaamosh Dakait’. With ‘Qabza’, they aim to not just raise awareness, but also directly contribute to relief efforts for Gaza through music.
