ISLAMABAD: The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has shifted the venue of all T20 Tri-Series to Rawalpindi. According to PCB’s revised schedule, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, and Zimbabwe will play all matches in Rawalpindi, starting from the 18th of November 2025.
According to the updated plan, all seven matches, including the final, will now take place at the Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium. The change aims to ensure smooth logistics and enhanced security for the participating teams.
The series, seen as a key preparation for next year’s T20 World Cup in India and Sri Lanka, originally included five matches in Lahore. The opening match will be played between Pakistan and Zimbabwe on November 18, marking the start of an action-packed tournament.
Teams to Play Four Matches Each
“Each team will feature in four matches, with the top two sides qualifying for the final on November 29,” the PCB statement said. The tri-nation series promises competitive cricket and an opportunity for teams to fine-tune their line-ups before the global event.
Revised ODI Schedule Announced
The announcement came only hours after PCB Chairman Mohsin Naqvi unveiled a revised schedule for the remaining ODI matches between Pakistan and Sri Lanka. Naqvi confirmed that the remaining ODIs would now be played on November 14 and 16 in Rawalpindi.
Taking to X (formerly Twitter), Naqvi expressed gratitude to the Sri Lankan team for continuing their tour. “The spirit of sportsmanship and solidarity shines bright,” he wrote.
Sri Lanka Confirms Continuation of Tour
The new schedules followed Sri Lanka Cricket’s (SLC) confirmation that the team would continue its tour of Pakistan. Earlier concerns had emerged after Tuesday’s suicide bombing in Islamabad, which killed 12 people and injured 27 outside a court.
In a statement, Sri Lankan Cricket board said that any of its player willing to return home would be replaced. The SLC, however, ensured the series will be completed without interruption. However, such players would undergo a formal assessment by the board upon their return.
