Recovery of PTI leader
LAHORE/ISLAMABAD: A petition was filed in the Lahore High Court for the recovery of PTI leader Farrukh Habib.
PTI’s lawyer Abuzar Salman Niazi Advocate filed the petition in the LHC on Thursday on behalf of brother of former PTI minister.

Punjab police arrested PTI leader Farrukh Habib from a house in Gwadar early this morning.
According to the lawyer, Police took Farrukh into their custody from the house along with his brother and four other companions.
The petitioner urged the court to take up the case on an urgent basis and order recovery of former IT Minister of PTI Farrukh Habib.
Earlier, the PTI issued a Tweet early Thursday morning to disclose the arrest of Farrukh Habib from Gwadar.

Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) said that its party leader Farrukh Habib has been apprehended in an early morning raid.
Police arrested PTI leader Farrukh Habib in a pre-dawn raid today.
According to PTI, police arrested Farrukh Habib from Gwadar. An individual in a police uniform accompanied by 7-8 individuals in plain clothes arrested PTI leader. They did not show arrest warrants to Farrukh Habib.
The party has expressed its hope that Farrukh Habib will be brought before the authorities in Lahore.
Farrukh Habib, a former MNA from Faisalabad, avoided arrest during the crackdown that followed the violent protests on May 9.
Supreme Court adjourns hearing of Faizabad sit-in case
Meanwhile, the Supreme Court (SC) adjourned the hearing of petitions seeking a review of its 2019 verdict on the Faizabad sit-in till November 1.
During today’s hearing, the Chief Justice of Pakistan Justice Qazi Faez Isa noted that everyone appeared scared in this case. He also said that the court would examine the live broadcasting of the hearing of this case. The next hearing is scheduled for Nov 1, 2023.
Notably, the Ministry of Defence, the Intelligence Bureau, the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), the Pakistan Electronic Media Regulatory Authority (PEMRA), and the Election Commission of Pakistan sought withdrawal of their petitions in this case.
A three-member bench, led by Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) Qazi Faez Isa and comprising Justice Athar Minallah and Justice Aminuddin Khan heard the case. It involved pleas challenging the SC’s Faizabad sit-in verdict. Tehreek-e-Labbaik Pakistan (TLP) organized ‘dharna’ in 2017 against the then Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) government.
