Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has declared Sunday as Youm-e-Tashakkur (Thanksgiving Day) to commemorate the success of Operation Bunyan-um-Marsoos, during which Pakistan delivered a resolute response to Indian aggression.
In a statement issued from Islamabad, the Prime Minister said the day is being observed to express gratitude to Almighty Allah, to honor the unmatched courage of the Pakistan Armed Forces, and to recognize the unity and resilience of the Pakistani nation, according to Radio Pakistan.
PM Shehbaz stated that Operation Bunyan-um-Marsoos demonstrated Pakistan’s ability to respond decisively on all fronts, affirming the country’s strength and preparedness in the face of provocation. He emphasized that despite the enemy’s aggressive posture, Pakistan acted with both restraint and readiness.
He called on citizens, particularly religious scholars, to offer nawafil (voluntary prayers) and special supplications across the country in remembrance of the martyrs (shuhada) and veterans (ghazis).
Reaffirming the nation’s unwavering support for its armed forces, the Prime Minister pledged that their sacrifices will always be remembered, and the people of Pakistan will continue to stand united with them.
