LAHORE/ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Muslim League (PML-N) today withdrew its no-confidence motion filed against chief minister Parvez Elahi.
The PML-N, however, said that its no-trust moves against Speaker and Deputy Speaker of Punjab Assembly will remain intact.
Interestingly, PML-N withdrew its no-trust move against chief minister of Punjab, a few hours after Governor Punjab denotified him as CM and dissolved his cabinet through a notification issue late Thursday night.
However, the no-confidence motions against the assembly’s speaker and deputy speaker are still in place.
Meanwhile, the Lahore High Court has started hearing of the petition of Pervez Elahi, who challenged his dismissal in the court on Friday morning.

In his petition, Elahi has urged the court to dismiss the order of Punjab Governor about his denotification as chief minister.
According to media reports, the Lahore High Court (LHC) will continue the hearing of the petition of Pervez Elahi till Friday afternoon.
