The Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) has decided to move forward with a significant expansion of the Punjab cabinet, following a proposal by party president Nawaz Sharif. The decision was made during a high-level consultative meeting held in Donga Gali, Murree on Sunday.
Sources revealed that senior party leaders, including Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz, and former CM Hamza Shehbaz, attended the meeting. The session focused on pressing political developments and public governance issues in Punjab.
10 New Ministers and Advisers Expected, Focus on South Punjab Representation
At Nawaz Sharif’s recommendation, the leadership reached a consensus to induct 10 new ministers and advisers into the Punjab cabinet, with a majority expected to be chosen from South Punjab to enhance regional representation.
Sources confirmed that Nawaz Sharif has been residing in Bagh-e-Shaheedan, Murree, for the past three days. The meeting, held at the invitation of the prime minister, allowed Nawaz, CM Maryam, and Hamza to begin shortlisting candidates for the upcoming cabinet expansion.
The final list will be prepared jointly by Nawaz Sharif and CM Maryam Nawaz, and formal announcements are expected after completing the final phase of consultations.
