UMARKOT: Senior Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) politician and Member of National Assembly (MNA) Nawab Yousaf Talpur passed away on Tuesday in Umarkot, Sindh, after a prolonged illness, according to family sources, as reported by ARY News.
Nawab Yousaf Talpur, 82, had been elected as MNA from NA-213 (Umarkot) in the 2024 General Elections. He first entered the National Assembly in the 2002 elections and had successfully retained his seat in every subsequent general election, including in 2013 when he defeated Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Shah Mahmood Qureshi.
He is survived by his sons, Nawab Taimur Talpur, a member of the Sindh Assembly, and Nawab Younis Talpur, the former deputy nazim of the District Council Mirpurkhas.
