The 10th edition of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) is not only delivering top-tier cricket excitement but also honouring the brave defenders of the nation.
During a match at the Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium on Saturday, a special ceremony was held to pay tribute to the Pakistan Armed Forces. The tournament had recently resumed after a temporary pause due to the conflict between India and Pakistan.
The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) officially dedicated PSL 10 to the armed forces of Pakistan. As part of this gesture, Saturday was set aside to honour the Pakistan Army, while Sunday and Monday will celebrate the Navy and Air Force, respectively.
The event was attended by Chief of Army Staff General Asim Munir and Director General of ISPR, Lieutenant General Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry. A solemn minute of silence was observed in memory of the martyrs who lost their lives defending the country during the recent clash with India.
The audience was deeply moved by patriotic musical performances, including Asrar Shah’s rendition of “Main Pakistan Hoon” and a powerful tribute by Sahir Ali Bagga, which echoed throughout the stadium.
A wave of patriotism swept through the venue as fans filled the stands with green and white, waving countless Pakistani flags. Chants of “Pakistan Zindabad” and “Pak Army Zindabad” echoed in the air, celebrating the courage and sacrifice of the military.
The emotional evening ended with a dazzling fireworks display that lit up the Rawalpindi sky, symbolizing national pride and unity with the armed forces.
