LAHORE/ISLAMABAD: Finally the PTI Chairman today said his party’s much-awaited long march will start on Friday (Oct 28) from Liberty Chowk, Lahore.
Imran Khan said the long march will reach Islamabad from the GT Road and the masses will join it from across Pakistan.
Addressing a press conference at the Chief Minister’s House in Lahore on Tuesday evening, Khan said the march will begin from Liberty Chowk at 11 am.
Khan termed PTI’s long march above politics and said that it was a jihad as it was a decisive moment for Pakistanis to choose their fate.
“The march will decide whether the people remain slave to these “thieves” or not. It is PTI’s march for ‘Haqeeqi Azaadi’ and it has no time-frame.
Responding to his opponents allegations of launching march at a time when the country was facing a crisis, PTI chief said that when he became prime minister, Pakistan was experiencing the worst economic situation.
Khan said, “At that time, Pakistan did not have enough foreign exchanging reserves to support the falling rupee while his government also had to deal with the coronavirus pandemic.
Imran Khan said that once his government tackled the COVID-19 pandemic in an effective manner, Pakistan recorded an exemplary economic growth — not seen in the past 17 years.
