“Pushpa 2: The Rule,” starring Allu Arjun and Rashmika Mandanna, has continued to make waves at the Indian box office, maintaining its status as a record-breaking sensation even after eight weeks of release.
Despite the debut of numerous films in recent weeks, the action-packed drama has managed to retain its stronghold in theatres, with its earnings showing a remarkable resurgence.
As of its 52nd day in cinemas, “Pushpa 2” added another 0.50 crore Indian rupees to its earnings, pushing its total domestic collection to an impressive 1,231.35 crore rupees.
The film has not only excelled within India but also recorded a gross collection of 1,467.2 crore rupees across the country.
When factoring in international earnings, the movie’s global gross reached a staggering 1,737.85 crore rupees, cementing its place among the highest-grossing films of recent times.
In comparison to other massive box office hits like “Baahubali 2: The Conclusion” and “Dangal,” fans have drawn parallels in terms of the film’s success.
While “Dangal” made history with a total collection of approximately 2,200 crore rupees, “Pushpa 2” has sparked discussions about its potential to follow a similar path.
Many believe the release of “Pushpa 2 Reloaded” contributed to the film’s sustained success, providing a boost to its overall performance.
The Hindi version of the movie has garnered significant attention, with occupancy rates showing impressive figures. Hyderabad recorded the highest occupancy at 35.33% across just eight shows, followed by Pune with 32.75% from 85 shows.
Mumbai’s occupancy stood at 22.75% across 50 shows. Despite the influx of other releases, “Pushpa 2” continues to run in over 300 theatres nationwide.
Directed by Sukumar, “Pushpa 2” debuted on December 5, 2024, and features Fahadh Faasil in a prominent role. The film’s incredible success has already prompted the filmmakers to announce a third installment of the franchise.
Reports suggest that popular actor Vijay Deverakonda is set to join the cast for the upcoming chapter, building anticipation for what is sure to be another thrilling ride for fans.
