Interim Bail Extended
The interim bail of Sheikh Rasheed in cases related to the May 9 incidents was extended by an anti-terrorism court (ATC) in Rawalpindi until December 9.
Following the extension, Sheikh Rasheed, the former interior minister, spoke to the media outside the court. He appealed to Army Chief General Syed Asim Munir and Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI) Chief General Nadeem Anjum, urging them with folded hands to establish a board to investigate the May 9 incidents and release those who are innocent.
Sheikh Rasheed emphasized that despite numerous cases against him for events on May 9, he was not present at any of the locations. He mentioned that the news of the adjournment had been published in the newspaper, prompting Judge Malik Ejaz Asif to highlight the importance of the court’s credibility. The ATC Rawalpindi then extended the interim bail of both Sheikh Rashid and Sheikh Rashid Shafiq, postponing the next hearing until December 9.
