Kamil Khan Reveals Name and Logo of Sialkot PSL Team
The owner of the new Pakistan Super League franchise from Sialkot, Kamil Khan, has officially unveiled the team’s name and logo. The franchise will compete in PSL 11 under the name Sialkot Stallionz. The announcement was made on Wednesday, ending weeks of speculation surrounding the team’s identity.
OZ Developers had secured the Sialkot franchise during the PSL auction held on January 8. The franchise was purchased for a record Rs1.85 billion. Since the auction, reports suggested that the team would revive the historic Sialkot Stallions name. The official announcement has now confirmed those expectations.
Kamil Khan shared the news on social media platform X. In his post, he wrote, “You guessed it. You waited. Now, I am proud to officially introduce SIALKOT STALLIONZ.” He also shared the franchise’s logo, which reflects strength, speed, and regional pride.
The franchise owner expressed enthusiasm about joining Pakistan’s premier cricket league. “Excited to be part of the Pakistan Super League journey,” Khan said, highlighting his commitment to contributing to the league’s growth.
Sialkot Stallionz Name Revives Domestic Cricket Legacy
The name Sialkot Stallionz carries deep historical significance in Pakistan’s domestic cricket. It is inspired by the former Sialkot Stallions team, one of the most successful sides in Pakistan’s T20 history.
Between 2005 and 2012, the Sialkot Stallions dominated domestic T20 cricket. The team won six National T20 Cup titles during that period. It also achieved a world-record 25-match unbeaten streak, a milestone that remains unmatched in Pakistan’s domestic T20 competitions.
Cricket fans across the country remember the Stallions for their consistency and dominance. Reviving the name has sparked excitement among supporters, especially in Sialkot and surrounding regions. The move is seen as a blend of tradition and modern franchise cricket.
The new franchise aims to build on that legacy at the PSL level. Officials believe the historic identity will help create a strong fan base and emotional connection with supporters.
PSL 11 Changes and Expansion Add to Excitement
Pakistan Super League 11 is scheduled to begin on March 26, 2026. The upcoming edition will feature several major changes and expansions. Faisalabad has been added as an additional venue for hosting PSL matches. This marks the city’s return to top-level cricket and expands the league’s national reach.
Another major development came earlier this month when the Pakistan Cricket Board announced a shift in player recruitment. For the first time in PSL history, players will be selected through an auction system instead of the traditional draft.
Under the new player acquisition framework, each franchise can retain a maximum of four players. Only one player can be retained per category. This is a significant change from previous seasons.
Earlier, franchises were allowed to retain up to eight players. Teams also had mentors, brand ambassadors, and a right-to-match option to retain a ninth player. The new system aims to create more balance and competitiveness across teams.
The introduction of Sialkot Stallionz, combined with the new auction format and additional venues, has increased anticipation for PSL 11. Fans and analysts expect the upcoming season to mark a new chapter in the league’s evolution.
