ISLAMABAD: A district and sessions court in Islamabad today recorded statement of a district election commissioner while hearing of a Toshakhana reference against PTI chief Imran Khan.
After recording statement of the ECP official, the court adjourned the case till December 8.
The court has summoned former prime minister Imran Khan today but Khan did not appear may be as he is recovering from wounds he sustained during murderous attack on him in Wazirabad on Nov 3.

The hearing of the case marks the beginning of a criminal trial against the former prime minister for concealing important facts about the Toshakhana gifts.
The Election Commission of Pakistan has recommended the case to the court to initiate criminal proceedings against Khan as he was guilty of “false statements and incorrect declaration” in his election papers.
Additional Sessions Judge Zafar Iqbal presided over Tuesday’s hearing and District Election Commissioner Waqas Malik recorded his statement.
The ECP official Malik told the court that he had been authorised to pursue the case in the court.
The ECP is an independent institution, functioning under the Constitution and ensured that corrupt practices were curtailed, he added.
Malik further said members of the National Assembly submitted their returns to the ECP annually. Imran, too, submitted his returns from 2018 to 2021, he added. The judge adjourned the hearing of the case till Dec 8.
