ISLAMABAD: Asif Ali Zardari, co-chairman of PPP told PML-Q supremo Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain that PML-N leader Hamza Shehbaz will not be the candidate for chief minister Punjab in the next setup.
Zardari stated this in his meeting with Pakistan Muslim League-Quaid (PML-Q) President Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain.

Former president Zardari met Shujaat Hussain to seek his support to form new government in Punjab as PTI was planning to dissolve the assembly.
The two leaders held a meeting last week _ a few days after Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan announced to dissolve dissolve Punjab and KP assemblies to force the government to hold general elections.
Matters of “mutual interests”, the county’s overall situation, Punjab’s current political situation, fear of assembly dissolution and other matters were discussed in the meeting held in Islamabad.
Federal minister Tariq Bashir Cheema and Rukhsana Bangash were also present in the meeting of PPP and PML-Q top leaders.
During meeting, Asif Zardari assured Shujaat that Hamza Shahbaz will not be the chief minister of Punjab in the new setup in the province.
Chaudhry Shujaat, according to sources, said that he would talk to Chief Minister of Punjab Parvez Elahi.
Asif Zardari, with the support of PDM, has started consultations for bringing a chance in Punjab and KP.
