Justice Jahangiri made this statement during a certificate distribution ceremony organized by the Islamabad High Court Bar Association.
He emphasized that no one, regardless of their profession, is above the law. Highlighting the issue, he stated that the practice of using ‘Advocate’ on number plates fosters a false sense of entitlement and violates legal standards. Justice Jahangiri called for fairness and professionalism within the legal community.
“The law is equal for all, and such practices are a breach of legal protocols,” he said, urging lawyers to immediately remove these unauthorized number plates from their vehicles.
In major cities like Lahore, Karachi, and Rawalpindi, authorities have already launched crackdowns on fancy and non-compliant number plates.
The movement for stricter legal adherence continues to grow, with officials urging citizens to use only the official plates issued by Excise departments.
