The resignation of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur from his position as Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) KP president has been officially accepted. The approval came on Tuesday following instructions from PTI founder Imran Khan.
The notification approving Gandapur’s resignation was issued by PTI Chairman Barrister Gohar Ali Khan. This decision follows reports that Gandapur was removed from the PTI KP presidency on Saturday.
Sources reveal that MNA Junaid Akbar has been nominated as the new PTI KP president. The decision was finalized during a leadership meeting chaired by Imran Khan at Adiala Jail.
Senior party members, including Atif Khan, Punjab Assembly Opposition Leader Malik Ahmad Khan Bhachar, and Mian Farhat Abbas, also attended the meeting with Imran Khan.
Speaking to the media outside Adiala Jail, PTI Secretary General Salman Akram Raja confirmed Junaid Akbar’s appointment as the PTI KP president.
