QUETTA/ISLAMABAD: A Captain of Pakistan Army and four other soldiers were martyred in an explosion in Kohlu area in Balochistan on Christmas day.
According to a statement of the ISPR, an improvised explosive device (IED) exploded during an intelligence-based operation (IBO) in Kahan area in Kohlu district in Balochistan on Sunday.

On Sunday four blasts were reported in Balochistan — two in Quetta and one each in Kohlu and Turtbat.
Captain Fahad, Lance Naik Imtiaz, Sepoy Asghar, Sepoy Mehran and Sepoy Shamoon embraced martyrdom when the IED exploded, ISPR added.
The ISPR stated, “such cowardly acts by inimical elements cannot sabotage the hard-earned peace and prosperity in Balochistan”.
The security forces are determined to challenge their nefarious designs, “even at the cost of blood and lives,” ISPR said.
A sanitisation operation has been launched in the area to round up the perpetrators, ISPR added.
Meanwhile, some unidentified outlaws threw a grenade at a police check-post in Quetta’s Satellite Town. In this incident eight people, including three cops sustained injuries, according to police.
Before this attack, a grenade blast was reported in the jurisdiction of the Shaheed Ameer Dasti police station, Sabzal Road in Quetta. In this incident, four people sustained injuries, including a woman and a little girl.
The bomb disposal squad was called in to the site of the blast after reports of another grenade at the site, according to the law enforcers.
According to police, the rescue workers shifted the injured persons to the Bolan Medical Complex Hospital in the city.
Furthermore, in another statement of the ISPR, a soldier was martyred while two others suffered injuries in a shootout with terrorists on Sunday morning in Balochistan’s Zhob area.
The ISPR said that the security forces have launched an operation in Zhob “to stop the terrorists’ from using a few suspected routes to move across the Pakistan-Afghanistan border to sneak into the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.”
