A major drug smuggling attempt was thwarted at Bacha Khan International Airport in Peshawar as the Airport Security Force (ASF) intercepted a passenger attempting to transport narcotics.
During a routine security screening, ASF officials discovered 980 grams of ice heroin concealed in the luggage of a passenger scheduled to board a Doha-bound flight.
The suspect, identified as Muhammad Wali, had carefully hidden the illegal substances inside his baggage. However, ASF officers, maintaining strict vigilance, successfully detected and confiscated the drugs, which have an estimated street value of over PKR 10 million.
Following the seizure, the accused was handed over to the Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF) for further legal action. Authorities have since intensified security measures at the airport to curb smuggling attempts and enhance passenger safety.
