As the world is extending its help towards flood-hit people in Pakistan, Turkish actor landed in Karachi to start of relief efforts from Sindh province.

Sindh province is the worst-hit by tormenting rains and subsequent catastrophic flooding. Many rural areas and cities in the Sindh province are under flood water, crops have been wiped out, bridges, roads destroyed and communications system has collapsed.

The floods have killed nearly 1,500 people across Pakistan since June, while thousands have been displaced – and 33 million have been affected.
The full scale of the devastation in the province is yet to be fully understood – but the people described it as the worst disaster they’ve survived.

Floods are not uncommon in Pakistan, but people here said these rains were different – more than anything that’s ever been seen. One local official called them “floods of biblical proportions”.
The government has estimated $30 billion worth of losses in the wake of rains and floods across the country.
