Chinese Ambassador Jiang Zaidong paid an official visit to the Pakistan Air Force (PAF) Headquarters in Islamabad, where he held a meeting with Air Chief Marshal Zaheer Ahmed Baber Sidhu. The two leaders discussed a range of topics, including defence collaboration and the evolving regional strategic landscape.
During the meeting, the Air Chief expressed appreciation for China’s consistent support and long-standing friendship. He acknowledged China’s vital contributions in technology transfer and research and development, reaffirming Pakistan’s commitment to joint exercises and high-level exchanges within multilateral forums.
Both sides underscored the need for stronger coordination and cooperation to address emerging regional security challenges.
The Air Chief emphasized that Pakistan-China ties are historically deep-rooted and shaped by a common vision for peace and stability in the region. He further noted that continued collaboration would strengthen bilateral relations in the future.
Ambassador Jiang lauded the Pakistan Air Force’s high level of operational proficiency during recent tensions with India, particularly its effective use of Chinese-made equipment and technology.
He also highlighted the progress achieved through Pakistan’s domestic defence investments and pledged China’s ongoing technical support to bolster the PAF’s capabilities. He added that advancements in Pakistan’s indigenous technological development would significantly enhance the country’s overall defence strength.
