China has once again thwarted two Indian moves in the United Nations to malign Pakistan just before an important plenary meeting of the Financial Action Task Force (FATF) which will conclude today afternoon, to be followed by a press conference at 8pm PST and 5pm CEST.
On Tuesday, India tried to get blacklisted Shahid Mahmood while on Wednesday, India made another move, targeting Hafiz Talah Saeed, son of Hafiz Saeed, chief of Lashkar-e-Taiba.
China, however, foiled both the Indian attempts by putting a hold on the Indian proposals.

The first FATF plenary under the two-year Singapore presidency will conclude today (Friday) afternoon, to be followed by a press conference at 5pm CEST (Central European Standard Time) in Paris.
The FATF is expected to remove Pakistan from the so-called gray list of potential violators to the whitelist.
In Islamabad, a spokesperson for the Ministry for Foreign Affairs told journalists that such moves were part of a “malevolent campaign” by India, through media leaks.
Despite India’s foolish attempts to politicise the process and create doubts on Pakistan’s accomplishments, FATF acknowledged in its June 2022 Plenary meeting that Pakistan had completed all substantive and procedural requirements of 2018 and 2021 Action Plans.
