Amid escalating regional tensions sparked by Indian aggression, Pakistan’s call for peace has garnered strong support from key international allies, including China, Türkiye, and Saudi Arabia.
Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar held crucial telephonic discussions with his counterparts from China and Türkiye to brief them on the latest developments following India’s unprovoked attacks.
During his conversation with Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi, Dar highlighted Pakistan’s measured and responsible response to Indian hostilities. Wang commended Pakistan for exercising restraint and emphasized the importance of sustained diplomatic engagement. He reiterated China’s unwavering support for Pakistan’s sovereignty, territorial integrity, and national independence.
In a separate call with Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan, Dar provided details about the civilian casualties resulting from Indian strikes on mosques and residential areas. Stressing Pakistan’s right to self-defense as per the UN Charter, he underscored the need for international awareness. Minister Fidan conveyed condolences for the loss of lives and reaffirmed Türkiye’s strong support for Pakistan during this critical juncture.
Meanwhile, Saudi Arabia welcomed the ceasefire agreement between Pakistan and India. The Kingdom expressed hope that the cessation of hostilities would contribute to long-term peace and stability in the region. A statement from the Saudi Embassy affirmed Riyadh’s backing of all efforts aimed at de-escalation and peaceful conflict resolution.
The United Kingdom also joined the chorus of international support. UK Foreign Secretary David Lammy, in a statement on social media, praised the ceasefire and urged both countries to uphold the agreement. He emphasized that continued restraint was essential for regional stability and global peace.
