Vivian Wilson, the 20-year-old transgender daughter of Elon Musk, recently announced plans to leave the United States following Donald Trump’s election victory, according to the UK’s Daily Mail.
Wilson, who was previously known as Xavier Musk, shared her unease with the nation’s political direction on Threads. “I don’t see my future in the United States,” she wrote, adding that although Trump may only serve for four years and anti-trans policies may not emerge, “the people who voted for this aren’t going anywhere anytime soon.”
In April 2022, Vivian legally changed her name and gender, adopting her mother’s maiden name and formally severing ties with Musk. Court documents reveal her statement, “I no longer live with or wish to be related to my biological father in any way, shape, or form.”
Musk, a vocal Trump supporter with 12 children from three relationships, has openly spoken about his strained relationship with Vivian, referring to her as a “communist” and claiming he was pressured into consenting to her use of puberty blockers during the COVID-19 pandemic. “I was essentially tricked into signing documents for Xavier. I didn’t fully understand what was happening at the time; it was during COVID, and I was told Xavier might commit suicide,” he explained.
Musk has described puberty blockers as “sterilization drugs” and has called gender dysphoria “incredibly evil,” suggesting that those advocating for it “should go to prison.” He further stated, “I lost my son… They call it ‘deadnaming’ because your son is dead, killed by the woke mind virus.”
Vivian, responding to Musk’s comments, asserted that he was largely absent during her childhood and often criticized her for her “femininity and queerness.” She said, “He doesn’t know what I was like as a child because he simply wasn’t there,” adding that she endured “relentless criticism” from him. “I was relentlessly harassed for my femininity and queerness. I’ve been reduced to a stereotype. I think that says a lot about how he views queer people and children in general,” she shared.
