In a brazen robbery in Karachi’s PECHS Block 2, a group of criminals impersonating FIA officers made off with over Rs 130 million in cash and valuables, according to reports.
According to police, the incident took place around 3:30 AM when five suspects, two men and three women disguised in burqas and masks, arrived at the home of a local car showroom owner in a black vehicle.
One of the men, dressed in an FIA-like uniform complete with a monogram and armed with a pistol, forced the homeowner to open the door. Once inside, the fake officers coerced residents to unlock the inner rooms and then looted the bedroom safe.
The suspects stuffed approximately Rs 130 million in cash into bags, along with 20 luxury wristwatches, a smartwatch, nine mobile phones, and two laptops.

The entire crime was captured on CCTV, revealing the masked robbers as they carried out the heist. A crucial breakthrough came when one of the stolen iPhones remained traceable thanks to its active location tracking.
Police quickly traced the signal to a private hotel, leading to the arrest of two brothers and two sisters allegedly connected to the robbery. The suspects are now under police custody and physical remand as investigations continue.
An FIR has been lodged at Ferozabad Police Station against the fake FIA team, while authorities work to recover the stolen items and identify other potential accomplices.
The daring robbery has sparked alarm among Karachi residents over how easily criminals can pose as law enforcement officers, triggering renewed calls for stronger verification measures and public awareness to prevent similar crimes.
