Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Fawad Chaudhry slapped Barrister Shoaib Shaheen following a heated exchange outside Adiala Jail in Islamabad on Saturday. The altercation reportedly stemmed from Shaheen’s alleged remarks attributing derogatory comments to PTI founder Imran Khan.
According to Chaudhry, Shaheen falsely claimed that Imran Khan had called him a “bhagora” (coward). Chaudhry later discussed the matter with the PTI founder, who denied making any such statement. He then warned Shaheen against misrepresenting Imran Khan’s words.
Eyewitnesses reported that after being slapped, Shaheen fell to the ground and sustained an injury to his arm. The incident occurred near Gate Number Five of Adiala Jail, Rawalpindi, where both leaders engaged in a verbal dispute before the confrontation turned physical.
Prison staff intervened to de-escalate the situation and separated them. Following the scuffle, Chaudhry proceeded into the jail, while Shaheen remained at the scene.
Chaudhry later confirmed that the matter was resolved after reconciliation on Imran Khan’s instructions.
