At least 20 people have died and another 10 have been injured following intense monsoon rains and flash floods across Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, according to a report issued by the Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) on Sunday.
The report highlighted that Swat district has suffered the most damage in this latest spell of severe weather. Among the victims are eight children, five women, and seven men.
The PDMA also noted that six houses were completely destroyed, while 51 others were partially damaged across different parts of the province. In addition, six livestock perished, mostly due to roof collapses triggered by the heavy rainfall.
Relief and rescue teams remain active in the affected areas, with local authorities and emergency services placed on high alert as forecasts predict further rain.
The PDMA has urged residents living in vulnerable locations to exercise caution and maintain contact with local officials for updates and safety guidance.
