Local media in Malaysia, Thailand, and Australia have reported widespread displacement and chaos due to heavy rain and floods.
In Malaysia’s Kelantan region, more than 18,000 people have been affected by intense flooding following persistent heavy rainfall since Friday.
Temporary relief camps have been set up in the Kuala Betis area to aid those impacted, as authorities continue evacuating a total of 18,735 individuals from the flooded zones.
Meanwhile, in Thailand, the southern part of the country faced torrential rains and subsequent floods, causing severe damage and displacing over 100,000 people across five provinces.

Prime Minister Srettha Thavisin is scheduled to visit the affected region to oversee ongoing rescue and relief operations.
Australia also experienced its share of devastation. Heavy rain and storms lashed New South Wales, Victoria, and Queensland, leading to floods in various regions. Tragically, two individuals lost their lives due to falling trees, and three others are currently missing in Victoria and Queensland.
The situation was exacerbated in Gympie, where three people were caught in a deluge from a large drain into the Mary River.
The storms in Queensland caused significant disruptions to the power supply, leaving over 120,000 people without electricity as hundreds of power lines were severed.
Moreover, Melbourne has been issued a severe thunderstorm warning due to anticipated damaging winds, hail, and heavy rainfall.
