Islamabad Police have recovered the body of a German diplomat, Thomas Fielder, from his apartment in the city’s Diplomatic Enclave. Fielder, who served as the Second Secretary at the German Embassy, was discovered unresponsive after colleagues reported his two-day absence.
Embassy staff, concerned over the lack of communication, forced entry into Fielder’s residence and found him unconscious. Local authorities were immediately notified, and the diplomat’s body was transported to the hospital for a post-mortem examination to determine the cause of death.
According to police officials, initial findings suggest that Fielder had previously suffered a minor heart attack, which may have contributed to his passing. However, the precise cause remains uncertain and will be confirmed following the autopsy report.
The German Embassy has been fully briefed on the situation, and investigations are ongoing to clarify the circumstances surrounding the diplomat’s death.
The news has raised concerns within the diplomatic community in Islamabad, as the Diplomatic Enclave is known for its secure environment. Authorities assured that all necessary measures are being taken to ensure a thorough and impartial investigation.
Fielder’s passing marks a somber moment for the German diplomatic mission in Pakistan, with colleagues mourning the loss of a respected figure. Further updates will follow as the investigation progresses.
