A government college employee has allegedly absconded after embezzling Rs9 million in student examination fees at Government College for Women, Nazimabad.
The accused, identified as Superintendent Mohammad Nafees, was responsible for handling financial transactions related to exam fees.
However, an FIR filed by the college principal revealed that while the amount was collected from students, it was never deposited into the institution’s account.
The misappropriation came to light when the college administration reviewed financial records and attempted to contact Nafees, only to discover that he had vanished without a trace.
Authorities have since launched an investigation to locate the suspect and recover the missing funds.
The incident has sparked outrage among students and their families, who are demanding greater financial oversight and stricter measures to prevent such fraud in the future.
The case highlights the need for enhanced transparency in public institutions to safeguard student funds and prevent financial misconduct.
