Security Operations
Punjab Inspector General of Police Dr. Usman Anwar has issued a directive to intensify security operations across the province in response to ongoing national security concerns.
The Punjab Police have been placed on high alert, with law enforcement agencies conducting large-scale search and sweep operations to ensure public safety and combat potential threats.
Over the past 48 hours, multiple intelligence-based operations have been carried out, leading to the apprehension of numerous suspected individuals. These operations are being conducted across different districts of Punjab, targeting criminals, fugitives, and those involved in unlawful activities.
The Punjab Police have also been actively engaging in mock drills to test and enhance their response capabilities in case of emergencies.
According to an official spokesperson for the Punjab Police, a total of 791 search and sweep operations have been conducted in the province in recent days. In addition, seven mock drills have been organized to evaluate the preparedness of law enforcement personnel.
These exercises aim to strengthen the police force’s ability to handle security challenges effectively and ensure swift action in critical situations.
During these operations, the police have successfully arrested several fugitives and habitual offenders involved in serious crimes. Additionally, law enforcement authorities have seized a significant cache of weapons, including three Kalashnikov rifles, 30 other rifles, 21 handguns, and hundreds of rounds of ammunition from the detained suspects.
The confiscation of these weapons is a crucial step in curbing illegal arms possession and reducing violent crime rates in the province.
IG Punjab Dr. Usman Anwar has reiterated the commitment of the Punjab Police to maintaining law and order. He emphasized that these security operations will continue without any leniency and that strict action will be taken against those found guilty of criminal activities.
He further urged the public to cooperate with law enforcement agencies by reporting any suspicious activities, reinforcing the collective responsibility of ensuring a safe and secure Punjab.
