ISLAMABAD: The Islamabad High Court today turned down a petition seeking formation of an immediate Judicial Commission to probe murder case of Arshad Sharif in Kenya.
A renowned Pakistani journalist and TV anchorperson Arshad Sharif was shot dead by the Kenyan police in Nairobi on Sunday night.
Barrister Shoaib Razzak filed a petition in the Islamabad High Court on Monday urging the court to form a judicial commission to find out the causes of the killing of Arshad Sharif.

While hearing the petition on Tuesday, Chief Justice Athar Minallah said, “There is no point to constitute a judicial commission at this stage.”
He said this was a matter between two countries and the state institutions can manage the situation more efficiently.
The representatives of Foreign and Interior Ministries, along with the deputy attorney general and the petitioner, also appeared before the court.
The petition told the court that body of Arshad Sharif will reach Islamabad Airport tonight and he requested the court to form a judicial commission to investigate his murder.
The deputy attorney general said in the court that this was a sad incident but let the report comes from the Kenyan government.
The IHC chief justice said the mainstream Journalist organizations be kept on board in this case during the investigation.
After hearing all the arguments, the court adjourned the hearing of the case till next week.
