ISLAMABAD: PTI Chairman and former prime minister Imran Khan has generated Rs4.5 billion worth donations commitments during second telethon held on Sunday night.
PTI Senator Faisal Javed said that Pakistani citizens, including expatriates had made commitments of donating over Rs4.5 billion to help flood-hit people.
In the previous telethon, the PTI chief had received Rs5 billion commitments, out of which the party Rs3 billion have been received, Faisal Javed added.

During Sunday night telethon, a US-based Pakistani citizen pledged $10 million to the former PM’s fund, while a Florida-based Pakistani pledged $50,000 donation.
One resident of Canada announced $25,000 donation, while another pledged $100,000. Also, a resident of Attock announced Rs2.5 million while Muslim Care UK also pledged 30,000 pounds to the fund to support flood relief measures by the PTI.
Meanwhile, a former European Parliament lawmaker promised to give 64,000 pounds, while anchorperson Imran Riaz said he and his friends would contribute Rs36 million to the fund.

Sania Nishtar, in charge of the funds, said that data from the Ehsaas programme would be used to distribute the amount among the survivors and assured that there would be no discrimination in carrying out relief measures.
