Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif remarked on Wednesday that India has come to realize that Pakistan is not behind in conventional warfare.
During a session of the National Assembly, following what he termed as India’s “cowardly attacks” on Pakistan, PM Shehbaz emphasized that India had once again attempted to strike under the cover of darkness but failed, thanks to a decisive response from the Pakistan Armed Forces. He described the event as turning “a night of darkness into one of lightning.”
He further highlighted that following the Pahalgam attack, Indian media, politicians, and anchors had made unfounded accusations against Pakistan. “There were deliberate attempts to mislead the international community, placing the blame on Pakistan for the incident in India,” he said.
PM Shehbaz also mentioned a recent terrorist attack in Balochistan, where a train was hijacked. “We have concrete evidence related to this attack. The Army’s Special Services Group (SSG) successfully rescued the passengers and averted a larger disaster,” he added.
To honor the Pakistan Armed Forces’ leadership, PM Shehbaz proposed a resolution recognizing the exemplary courage shown by the military, which he said had significantly enhanced Pakistan’s stature.
“Last night, 80 Indian planes launched attacks on Muridke, Sialkot, and other locations. But our military was ready. As soon as Indian aircraft neared the Pakistani border, our jets retaliated,” PM Shehbaz stated.
He further praised the readiness of the armed forces, especially Air Chief Marshal Zaheer Ahmad Babar, saying, “The Air Chief and his pilots have delivered a crushing blow to the Indian Air Force.”
PM Shehbaz explained that the Indian planes were forced to retreat and land in Srinagar. “We were receiving real-time information about India’s plans,” he continued.
He clarified that until last night, the conflict remained within the realm of conventional warfare, with no immediate nuclear threat. “India now understands that Pakistan is not lagging behind in any way,” he said.
PM Shehbaz paid tribute to Pakistan’s martyrs, acknowledging their sacrifice. “Our martyrs are the true heroes of Pakistan. The Almighty has blessed us with a great victory, and our eagles have downed five Indian aircraft, with the potential to have shot down ten.”
In closing, he urged all political parties and forces to unite in strengthening the constitution and the nation. “I am ready to meet with my fellow leaders to show the world that Pakistan stands united,” he concluded.
