Amid rising tensions following the Pahalgam attack, India has begun evacuating villages near the Pakistan border, despite offering no concrete evidence to support its accusations against Islamabad, sources reported on Wednesday.
Security officials confirmed that the Indian Border Security Force (BSF) initiated the evacuation of several border villages, including those in the Samba, Kathua, and Akhnoor sectors. Analysts believe the Pahalgam incident may be a false flag operation, with India using it to justify escalatory measures.
Local announcements urging residents to quickly harvest their crops and prepare for relocation were reportedly made through loudspeakers from a gurdwara in the Attari sector.
Simultaneously, Indian authorities have allegedly blocked access to hundreds of Pakistani television channels in an effort to restrict alternate viewpoints and shape domestic public perception.
Defense analysts argue that New Delhi’s aggressive stance, absent any verifiable proof, reflects deeper political motives tied to the current government’s Hindutva-driven agenda. They warn that such rhetoric is likely being used to deflect from internal criticism and consolidate political support rather than address legitimate security threats.
Experts note increasing public discontent with Prime Minister Modi’s hardline policies, suggesting the current narrative may be more about political optics than national defense.
