Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi has strongly condemned the recent attack on the vehicle of former Chief Justice of Pakistan, Justice (retired) Qazi Faez Isa, in London.
Naqvi, denouncing the assault, directed the National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) to take immediate action to identify those responsible for the attack.
The interior minister also confirmed that a vehicle associated with the Pakistani High Commission in London was similarly targeted.
“We cannot stay silent on this incident,” Naqvi stated, criticizing the lack of security for Qazi Faez Isa despite prior threats. He ordered identification of the attackers through video footage and assured legal action will follow.
Mohsin Naqvi further stated that an FIR will be lodged in Pakistan, which will include requests to block the attackers’ national identity cards and revoke their passports.
Additionally, Naqvi announced plans to strip the attackers of their Pakistani citizenship, pending cabinet approval. “No one will be allowed to commit such attacks,” he asserted.
In London, PTI supporters attempted to block the former chief justice’s car—also a vehicle of the Pakistan High Commission—by chanting slogans and trying to break its windows. Qazi Isa was on his way to an event at the Middle Temple.
Senior PTI figures, including Zulfi Bukhari, Malika Bukhari, and Azhar Mashwani, addressed the supporters gathered to protest against the former chief justice at the Middle Temple on Tuesday night.
