Authorities in Islamabad have sealed the city’s Red Zone with containers and barbed wire ahead of a planned pro-Palestine protest by Jamaat-e-Islami, scheduled for today (April 20). The move comes amid heightened security concerns and in response to official directives aimed at maintaining public order.
All entry and exit points to the Red Zone have been heavily barricaded, with razor wire and containers placed to restrict movement. Security has been significantly ramped up, with additional police and paramilitary personnel deployed throughout the area to ensure strict monitoring and control.
The district administration has imposed a ban on all unlawful assemblies in the capital, particularly near sensitive government buildings. Officials have cited security alerts and the need to prevent any disruption or unrest as key reasons behind the decision.
Citizens are being urged to cooperate with law enforcement agencies and to avoid restricted zones to help maintain peace and security in the city.
