Indian Media Propaganda
In a powerful display of public dissent, residents of Indian-occupied Kashmir have launched massive protests to reject what they describe as false propaganda disseminated by Indian media and to voice their growing frustration with the policies of the Modi-led government.
According to local sources, large numbers of people, particularly the youth, flooded the streets in various parts of the region to denounce the central government’s narrative and the role played by Indian news outlets in misrepresenting ground realities.
The protests were marked by high-pitched sloganeering, with chants such as “Modi Sarkar Murdabad” (Down with Modi Government) echoing through the streets, capturing the growing anger and political disillusionment among Kashmiris.
Protesters accused Indian media houses of deliberately spreading misinformation to malign the Kashmiri resistance movement and to whitewash the state’s oppressive policies.
One of the key triggers for the latest wave of protests was the alleged misreporting of a recent incident in Pahalgam, which residents claim was distorted by national media to suit the government’s narrative. This specific instance has further intensified local resentment, as it highlighted what protesters see as a systematic effort to suppress their voices and delegitimize their struggle.
Reports also indicate that Indian media personnel present in the region faced intense backlash, with protesters openly condemning their presence and calling out their perceived complicity in shaping a distorted image of Kashmir.
The demonstrations served not only as an outcry against state propaganda but also as a reaffirmation of the Kashmiri people’s demand for justice, dignity, and truth.
Speakers and protest leaders warned that the people of Kashmir would no longer remain silent in the face of state-sponsored narratives and biased journalism. They vowed to continue raising their voices against injustice and to resist efforts aimed at silencing or misrepresenting their cause.
These latest developments underscore the deepening disconnect between the people of Kashmir and the Indian state, as well as the eroding credibility of the mainstream Indian media in the region.
The message from the valley was clear: Kashmiris reject falsehoods and will persist in their demand for genuine representation and respect for their fundamental rights.
