Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei, Leader of the Islamic Revolution, declared that Israel and its ally, the United States, will face a “crushing response” for their actions against Iran and the broader Axis of Resistance.
He made these remarks during a meeting with students from across the country, held on the eve of Iran’s National Day of Students and the National Day of Fighting Global Arrogance.
Ayatollah Khamenei outlined the Iranian nation’s longstanding resistance to U.S. oppression and demands, a struggle for over 70 years. He emphasized that Iran’s resistance to U.S. arrogance—characterized as Islamic, national, rational, and humane—will continue with a clear strategy and steadfast commitment.
The Leader assured that any hostile actions by the U.S. or the Zionist regime would be met with a decisive response, asserting that Iran’s actions are firmly in line with international law. He highlighted Iran’s continued efforts against global arrogance, calling it a logical, ethical, and legal movement in alignment with Islamic principles and international standards.
Ayatollah Khamenei stressed that the battle against global arrogance is a permanent mission. Designating a day to fight against global arrogance, he explained, ensures that this historic struggle is remembered, particularly amid attempts by some to cast doubt on Iran’s resistance against U.S. and regional proxies.
He also criticized those who misrepresent the Iranian people’s opposition to imperialism as irrational, stating, “We don’t accuse these individuals of treason, but their misunderstanding of this rational, justified movement shows a lack of foresight.”
The Leader underscored the positive global perception of Iran’s resistance, despite media efforts by hegemonic powers to paint it negatively. He pointed to widespread celebrations across various countries after Operation True Promise as a testament to the alignment of Iran’s movement with both international and Islamic logic.
He further asserted that the actions of Iran’s adversaries would not go unchallenged, promising that the Zionist regime and the U.S. would receive a “crushing response” for their hostilities against Iran and the Resistance Front.
Ayatollah Khamenei also discussed the roots of Iran’s resistance to global arrogance, attributing it to decades of U.S. domination and exploitation of Iran. He refuted claims by certain historians that Iran’s opposition began with the U.S. embassy takeover, pointing instead to the 1953 coup against Prime Minister Mosaddegh’s government, which he described as a betrayal by the U.S. that restored the oppressive Pahlavi regime.
He highlighted other U.S.-backed measures, such as the establishment of SAVAK and training in brutal interrogation techniques, as well as the presence of thousands of American advisors involved in espionage and interference. According to Ayatollah Khamenei, these actions were intended to undermine Iran’s independence and dignity.
