As the holy month of Ramadan draws near, Saudi meteorologists forecast mild weather conditions across the kingdom.
Aqil Al Aqil, a weather analyst at the Saudi National Centre for Meteorology, highlighted that this year’s Ramadan coincides with the beginning of spring, bringing cooler temperatures to the northern regions, while the rest of the country is expected to experience moderate weather.
Ramadan, which starts on March 1 this year, is a sacred time for Muslims, marked by fasting from dawn to sunset and breaking the fast with Iftar meals, often beginning with dates.
Charitable acts are a hallmark of Ramadan in Saudi Arabia, with many citizens preparing Iftar meals or hosting large gatherings to share with others.
The month also witnesses a surge in Umrah pilgrimages to the Grand Mosque in Mecca, as worshippers from around the globe gather for prayers and religious devotion. Pilgrims often extend their journeys to visit the Prophet’s Mosque in Medina and other significant Islamic landmarks.
