MilKar Pakistan, the country’s largest volunteer network, has been honored with the Youth Excellence Award at the Commonwealth Asia Youth Alliance (CAYA) Summit 2025 in Islamabad.
This achievement adds to MilKar’s growing list of accolades, recognizing its efforts in connecting volunteers and organizations to promote community welfare. Previously, the organization had received national and international recognition, including the Commonwealth Innovation Award and P@SHA’s “Best Community Service” Gold Award.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif presented the award to Ali Saif, the youngest member of the National Youth Council (NYC) and the Impact Head of MilKar. Saif is also the founder of Climate Dost, an initiative focused on environmental sustainability.
Speaking about the importance of youth involvement in climate action, Saif emphasized that young people must take the lead in addressing climate change. He pointed out that 70% of Pakistan’s population comprises youth, making them a crucial force for environmental and social initiatives.
He highlighted some of MilKar’s key contributions, including the plantation of over 100,000 trees and the distribution of 100,000 masks during the smog crisis.
Saif, a strong advocate for eco-friendly initiatives, shared that MilKar has recently installed a significant number of bird feeders and aims to expand this project nationwide by 2030. He encouraged people to adopt environmentally friendly practices and contribute to sustainability efforts.
