SLAMABAD: The National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) has issued an advisory urging the public to refrain from making unnecessary photocopies of essential documents, as reported by ARY News on Wednesday.
According to a NADRA spokesperson, there is no requirement for citizens to bring photocopies of National Identity Cards (NICs), Family Registration Certificates (FRCs), or other NADRA-issued documents when visiting their offices. Instead, individuals should present the original documents or simply provide the NADRA-issued number printed on them.
The advisory emphasizes that making unnecessary photocopies can pose security risks, as these documents may be misused by unauthorized individuals.
For any complaints, citizens are encouraged to file them at NADRA Complaints Portal.
NADRA was established in 1998 as the National Database Organization (NDO) under the Ministry of Interior, Government of Pakistan. On March 10, 2000, the NDO merged with the Directorate General of Registration (DGR) to form NADRA, an independent corporate body aimed at facilitating good governance.
NADRA has gained international recognition for its success in providing identification solutions, e-governance, and secure documents, effectively mitigating identity theft and safeguarding the interests of its clients.
