A coordinated rescue operation led by Mansehra Police successfully saved eight individuals who were stranded in the snow-covered region of Noori Top. Sadly, one of the trapped individuals, Gulzada, son of Toor Khan, lost his life due to a lack of oxygen before assistance could arrive.
According to officials, the rescued group had traveled from various parts of Pakistan for business in the Sharda region of Azad Kashmir. Out of the 22 individuals who set off from Sharda, 14 reached their destinations without issue, while eight became trapped near Noori Top after a glacier incident.
Upon receiving the distress alert, District Police Officer Shafiullah Gandapur initiated a rescue operation under the supervision of DSP Circle Paras, Khushkhal Khan, and SHO Naran Police Station, Israr Hussain Shah.
The mission was executed through the Jalkhad route with the combined efforts of the Mansehra Police, Kaghan Development Authority (KDA), and other support agencies. Five individuals were retrieved via Jalkhad, while the remaining three were rescued by the Sharda Police.
All rescued persons were safely transported to Naran and later returned to their hometowns. The swift and professional response by the teams involved was widely appreciated.
The rescued individuals and their families expressed heartfelt thanks to the authorities, particularly the Mansehra Police, for their timely and courageous intervention.
